Verbs + to-infinitive(động từ + to + động từ nguyên thể)

Verbs + V-ing(động từ + động từ -ing)

1. Write the correct form of the verbs in brackets.

(Viết dạng đúng của động từ trong ngoặc.)

2. learn (use) _______ traditional farming tools

3. mind (not touch) _______ the displays

Remember!(Ghi nhớ!)

- The verb after want, promise, decide, agree, learn,plan has the to-infinitive form.

(Động từ sau want, promise, decide, agree, learn,plan có dạng nguyên thể có “to”.)

Example:(Ví dụ)

We decided to do some research on Thai traditional dancing.

(Chúng tôi quyết định thực hiện một số nghiên cứu về múa truyền thống của Thái Lan.)

- The verb after enjoy, fancy, finish, mind, avoid, suggest has the -ing form.

(Động từ sau enjoy, fancy, finish, mind, avoid, suggest có dạng đuôi ing.)

I suggested visiting the Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology.

(Tôi đề nghị đến thăm Bảo tàng Dân tộc học Việt Nam.)

1. fancy + V-ing: thích làm gì

fancy riding a buffalo

(thích cưỡi trâu)

2. learn + to V: học làm gì

learn to use traditional farming tools

(học cách sử dụng các công cụ nông nghiệp truyền thống)

3. mind + V-ing: bận tâm, phiền

mind not touching the displays

(tâm trí không chạm vào màn hình)

4. decide + to V: quyết định làm gì

decide to make a kite

(quyết định làm một con diều)

5. avoid + V-ing: tránh làm gì

avoid playing on the streets

(tránh chơi trên đường phố)

6. promise + to V: hứa làm gì

promise to learn more about the history of our village

(hứa sẽ tìm hiểu thêm về lịch sử của làng chúng tôi)

3. mind + V-ing: bận tâm, phiền

Do you mind replaying that folk music? It’s lovely.

(Bạn có phiền khi phát lại bản nhạc dân gian đó không? Nó thật dễ thương.)

4. avoid + V-ing: tránh làm gì

My uncle always avoids telling stories about his past.

(Chú tôi luôn tránh kể những câu chuyện về quá khứ của mình.)

5. plan + to V: lên kế hoạch làm gì

They plan to do research about life in Hue in the 19th century.

(Họ dự định nghiên cứu về cuộc sống ở Huế vào thế kỷ 19.)

3. promise + to V: hứa làm gì

I have promised to teach my grandfather how to find news online.

(Tôi đã hứa sẽ dạy ông tôi cách tìm tin tức trực tuyến.)

4. suggest + V-ing: gợi ý làm gì

My grandmother suggested making a traditional long dress for the wedding.

(Bà tôi đề nghị may một chiếc áo dài truyền thống cho đám cưới.)

5. agree + to V: đồng ý làm gì

Our group agreed to give a presentation about school uniforms in the 20th century.
